Twitter addendum

I neglected to mention. My twitter username is darkentries, strangely enough. Please do follow me. I never tire of peoples inane chirpings whilst bored at work.

Stephen Fry is following me. I would feel honoured, only he is following 20,000 other people too.

quiet because I’ve been exhausted… and really didn’t have much anything of worth to say/bother typing out.
Hope all is well for you.

Second time I’ve tried to ‘get’ twitter, as I have previously encountered it a year or so ago but it’s just not working out for me. Just how does someone follow people without having to already know their email address to send them an invite?
Is this not just a kind of web based chat thing?

I tried their help link but that sends me off to yet another place to sign up for an account for…argh.

heh well typical, just clicked on one of your entries up there on the right and it took me straight to your twitter profile with a big fat ‘follow’ icon on it.
    Genius.

It is cunning in it’s simplicity.
Are you following me? I am being followed by someone who I do not recognise the name of.
Twitter is more like micro blogging than IM. Most people don’t have real time conversations, just exchange banter over the course of days/weeks/months.
It’s a good way to express whats going on without all the bother of a blog post. If you feed your tweets into your blog it makes it even more useful.
I used it at work too. It’s a great way for colleagues to keep each other informed on their status, what they’re up to, where they are, without the timewasting element of IM, email, phone etc.
